Waitlist
The Waitlist page is the host stand. Add walk-ins, quote a wait, and Dynabite texts them when their table is ready — so they can go grab a coffee instead of standing by the door.

How to use it
- 1
Add a walk-in
Tap + Add walk-in. Enter the guest's name, party size, and a phone number. The wait estimate is auto-calculated from current floor occupancy and recent turnover, but you can override it if you know better. - 2
Watch the queue advance
Each card shows position, remaining wait, and party size. When a table that fits opens up, the topmost compatible party flips to Table ready and an SMS goes out automatically. - 3
Seat or no-show
When the guest arrives, tap Seat and pick the table — it'll show up on the Reservations floor plan as if they'd been booked. If they don't turn up, tap No-show so the wait estimate for the rest of the queue stays accurate. - 4
Tune the SMS template
The wait-ready text comes from Settings → Notifications → SMS templates → Waitlist. You get one variable:{{name}}. Keep it under 140 characters so it's a single SMS segment.
Gotchas & tips
Waitlist SMS counts against your monthly SMS quota. On the Free plan there are no SMS credits — Free restaurants can still run the queue, just without the auto-text. Upgrade to Starter for 500 SMS / month.
If a guest's phone is invalid, the SMS silently fails and the system falls back to a visual badge on their card — ask the host stand to keep an eye on the queue when that happens.
