How to use it
- 1
Define shift templates
Open Settings → Workforce → Shifts. Create reusable shift blocks (Lunch 11–17, Dinner 17–23, Double 11–23) with start/end + role. The grid uses these as building blocks. - 2
Drag-drop into the grid
From the shift palette on the right, drag a shift into a cell. The cell turns orange. Roll over a staff row to see their availability + accumulated hours that week. - 3
Watch the labour forecast
Top-right shows forecast labour as a % of forecasted revenue (uses your historical revenue-per-cover and the bookings on the books). Aim for <25% in casual dining, <30% in higher-touch concepts. - 4
Publish and notify
Tap Publish. Every assigned staff gets a push + email; their My Schedule updates instantly. Unpublished drafts stay invisible until you're ready.
Gotchas & tips
The cost forecast assumes published shifts are taken. If three people swap mid-week, labour cost won't reflect overtime unless someone hits over 40 hours — review the actuals on Monday.
Time-off requests sitting in pending still let the cell be filled. Approve or decline before publishing or the rota will conflict.
